This morning I saw the notification on my computer of a Java update – you’ve seen them, along with Adobe and Flash and your antivirus and that weird program you accidently clicked or downloaded. I keep Java updated because of several web applications that I use – like vizualize.me. The problem is that the updater opens with a download “McAffee Scanner” checkbox filled in by default. If you don’t notice you get this horrible software on your computer. McAffe antivirus is the worst. I see so many computers that are “protected” by McAffee and are full of spyware, adware and homepage hijackers, either because it wants more money or it just doesn’t work. Be sure to take the time to read the pop up window before you click….
